590. About the "DICTATORSHIP" of the proletariat.
Marxism
accepts Charles Darwin's theory of evolution and Louise H. Morgan's
anthropological studies. Also Friedrich Engels's "The Origin of the
Family; Private Property; and the State" should be considered by those
who wish to understand Marxism. A Marxist scholar, Com. K. Damodaran's
book "The Man" is also worth considering. Marx examines periods in
relation to the economic system. Marx does not care who rules. Primitive
Communism; Slavery; Feudalism; capitalism; Socialism; Communism" are
called periods as Marxian concept. There was a time when man began to
live in groups and those who were capable of all things participated
together and shared their shares. Marx calls the era of group living,
hunting animals for food, starting agriculture, and fighting enemies in
groups "Primitive Communism." There was no distinction between rich and
poor then. There was no distinction in the name of gods and in the
name of caste. They were called tribes.
//
Gradually
the tribe leader became the king. When clashes broke out between
tribes, the losers were killed or enslaved. Their properties were
acquired by the winners. The tribal chief distributed them all to those
who had helped him, and the greater portion was his own. It was during
this period that "GOVERNMENTS" began. Governments were mainly tasked
with giving legal effect to the slave system. Slaves had to do all the
work then. There primitive communism was turning into a slave system.
Gradually the landowner who had more control over the land became the
"landlord". The administration was headed by the tribal head as the
king, but they were controlled by land lords. Because slaves were
mostly under the control of landlords. Kings changed but there was no
change in land ownership. That period is known as "Feudalism".
//
Gradually
industry grew more profitable than agriculture. Those who did not have
much wealth during the feudal period became wealthy due to the growth
of industry and took power by breaking the rule of the kings by force.
Marxism calls them "bourgeois revolutions" or democratic revolutions.
In India it ended with the Indian Independence movement of 1947. There,
money or money dominated. The domination of capitalists became
capitalism. Those who understood the importance of money started trying
to increase their wealth everywhere. That is the current time. That is
the current time. Even during the time of Karl Marx, the English East
India Company became a company capable of creating the British Empire
where the sun never sets, Marx considered it as the full growth of
capitalism. But its owners were the "LORDS" of England. The British
Empire grew out of feudalism.
//
In
India, even though the monarchy is gone, the dominance of land still
exists in most states of India. But they have none of the powers of the
old monarchy. If there is a majority in the Indian Parliament, it can
eliminate the old feudal lordship over land and make land ownership a
right for all citizens. Brahminism in India cannot be eliminated
otherwise. Only single VOTE of everybody needs for it. Not all periods
in history have occurred continuously. Slavery existed in tribal
period and Slavery also existed during feudalism also. Abolition of
Slavery caused due to so many reasons. Responsibilities of care and
protection, the protection of older slaves was a problem, strong slaves
were often dangerous, and so on. Actually the slave owners were found
that when the slavery abandoned, it is more better by silly wages to
the old slave. That is what Lenin said that in capitalism the worker is
only a wage slave. Even during the time of Karl Marx, the English East
India Company became a company capable of creating the British Empire
where the sun never sets, Marx considered it as the full growth of
capitalism.
//
Ignorance
and inability to understand things cannot be considered as anyone's
fault. But ignorance does not solve anything. Especially when it comes
to a country that affects more than 140 crore people. The CPI(M) "PARTY
PROGRAM" must change to "SOCIALIST INDIA", keeping in mind the Indian
Constitution and India's future.
//
If
those who deal with "Marxism" do not understand the true meaning of
the words associated with it, the consequences will be enormous. In
general, it is very difficult for most of the people to understand the
real facts. "Class Struggle" is one of them. As Friedrich Engels himself
said about Karl Marx -- "Marx saw from a great height and from a great
distance." Even that is not easy for everyone to understand. Marx said
about class struggle - all written history is the history of class
struggles. It means that class struggle also came into existence from
the time when the slave system and private property system came into
existence. It is very difficult to understand. The slave system, the
poisoning of Socrates, the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Brahminism, the
extermination of the Red Indians in America, and the murders of
Gandhiji and others in India are all part of it. But it is a fact that
there are people everywhere and there are good and bad people, whether
they are rich or poor. By birth, Marx belongs to the middle class and
Engels is an industrialist. Their class of birth did not prevent them
from sticking to the side of labourers. Marx's life partner was the
daughter of an aristocrat, Lord Westfallen. King Sri Buddha was the one
who pointed out that greed for money is the cause of all suffering.
EMS, who became a Communist Master in India, was a Brahmin by birth. It
will be difficult for those who hear such things to believe that class
struggle means a struggle between two classes.
//
Perhaps
that is why the Communist leadership of the 1950s and the two
Communist parties (CPI and CPI(M)) came to the position that there is
no such thing as class enemies in India. But what happened then was to
deny the fundamental foundation of Marxism, namely the theory of "class
struggle". What happens there is that the working class is not
exploited; there are no class antagonisms; the problem with an
exploitative social system, socialism is out of question. Otherwise
there is no issue of encouraging exploitative classes and class
enemies. 74 long years after the 1950s, things remain the same, the
conclusion reached by the CPI(M) at the last 23rd Party Congress was
that it is enough to end the rule of Hindutvadis. The CPI(M) Central
Committee meeting held in November 2024 reiterated it. That is why only
the issue of "development" is used in election occasions. In the old
Russia where the October Revolution took place in 1917, Lenin or Mao in
China where the revolution took place in 1949 had no such doubts and
they were stern in the target of SOCIALISM..The cause of the end of the
Soviet Union was Gorbachev, who was the General Secretary of the
Communist Party there. The stand of CPI(M) P B and Central Committee
also with the conclusions of Former Party General Secretary Sitaram
Yechury said that only the Indian National Congress can save India and
the Communist Party is not capable of that and there is no need for the
party to exist. The fact that the current leadership also fully
agrees with it means that there is no need for any change in the
positions. The fact is that the whole of India is completely in favor
of the abolition of the party and the need for no party. There is no
change in the position that Marxism is only for capitalism. Promoting
"CAPITALISM" and denying the merit of SOCIALISM, natural justice of
MARXISM to Indian peoples is only just cruelty to the great man KARL
MARX. Its guilty is only vested with Indian Communist leaders.
//
The
most important proof that the Communist Party leadership in India does
not understood what is Marxism or for what purpose it was
implemented that there are no permanent enemies. Party is supporting
privatization under globalization of Indian public assets by Indian
bourgeois political parties by accepting huge amount as scam. This is
not only against Party Program para 6.5; wherein stressing as "PUBLIC
SECTOR WILL HAVE DOMINATING ROLE", and also in Socialist Economy, public
sector will be the base of economy, but also through public sector;
the SURPLUS VALUE theory of MARXISM working in political field. The
Communist Party leadership is not even ready to raise the demand to fill
the vacancies in the public sector institutions. They have no other
intentions than to grow Indian capitalism and world capitalism. Let
anyone rule India. Their only intention is that the status they have
just got should continue till their age at its maximum.
//
In
1964, when the Communist movement in India under the leadership of SA
Dange decided to form an alliance with the Indian National Congress, the
political leadership of the exploited classes, there were 32
dissenters. They were Comrades E M S; A K G etc.. Even those who know
the history of the old CPI have not been able to understand that there
was a single person in the CPI(M) Politburo or Central Committee to
disagree when Sitaram Yechuri had said as only Indian National Congress
could save India; but everybody supported Yechuri. Not only that, the
23rd Party Congress decided to extend the alliance to the whole of India
when not a single candidate in West Bengal who competed in an alliance
with the Indian National Congress was successful. It only means that
everybody had agreed to Sitaram to his words. If we understand that the
reason why only one person won in the 2019 and 2024 parliamentary polls
in Kerala was only because the opposing candidate was a woman, there is
no possibility of a woman or even a single candidate winning in the
future. Nothing can convince those who do not understand the difference
between what Assembly elections and Parliament elections. There is a
possibility that the CPI(M) will reach a majority in the Politburo and
the Central Committee with the common understanding that there is no
problem even if the Communist Party does not exist in India when it is
firmly committed to capitalism. The draft political resolution approved
by the CPI(M) Politburo and Central Committee in November 2024 indicates
that there is hardly a single person in the whole of India who would
disagree with that and also Party Program will not be changed . The
consequences of all this will lead to the rule of Hindutva fanatics in
India forever.//When the Hindutva regime, which continues in the old
Aryagotra positions, repeats the massacres in Gujarat in 2002, there
will not be a single red flag for resistance in India. If CPI(M) does
not amend its party program and accept the Party Program of "SOCIALIST
INDIA", kindly say in party meetings that please "do not use the name
"Communist Party" and avoid the name "Karl Marx".
//
Promoting
"CAPITALISM" and denying the merit of SOCIALISM, natural justice
of MARXISM to Indian peoples is only just cruelty to the great man KARL
MARX. Its guilty is only vested with Indian Communist leaders.
Ignorance of facts is not an excuse to deny natural justice.
"Ignorance" of what "democracy" is doesn't make denying social justice
to people a crime.
//Karl
Marx, who started his career as a journalist, turned to economic
research when he realized the conditions under which workers toiled and
suffered. Then he realized the fact; "Those who actually work gain
nothing; that the achievers do not work". Part of that led him to the
exploitation of workers and an exploitation-free social system. Part of
it is his voluminous work "Das Capital" and philosophy including the
theory of surplus value. Marx's lifetime was the mid-nineteenth
century. (Born--May 5, 1818; Demised--March 14, 1883). It is a time
when monarchies and empires prevail in the world. India was then (1850)
under the rule of the English East India Company. The dictatorship of
the proletariat was proposed to prevent the overthrow of the
proletariat if the proletariat seizes power through armed revolution
anywhere in the world. It was caused by the "Paris Commune" of 1871. In
France, a revolution took place on March 18, 1871, but was overthrown
by reactionary forces within three months.
//
But
whatever it may be, Karl Marx's conclusion that the proletariat or the
class that lives by working and the class that lives only by
exploiting the workers has existed since the beginning of time was also
correct. The reason is that the rich class is adamant that no
socialist ideology should be allowed on the face of the earth and that
is something that anyone with common sense is convinced of. There is
where Engels said of Marx that "Marx saw too high and too far" stands
true. It is also just a fact that the whole world is one of the
reactionary forces against the socialist system. For exploitative caste
political leadership in India; The Hindutvas and the Indian National
Congress have no dispute that there should be no Communist Party in
India.
//
Comrades
who do not understand what "democracy" is and still talk about the
dictatorship of the proletariat only helpful to strengthen the
propaganda of the class enemies about the Working Class politics.
They
can't remember the fact that even USSR is only in history. Karl Marx
and Lenin talked about the dictatorship of the proletariat based on the
monarchy. Karl Marx was not able to estimate the modern parliamentary
democracy that was practiced only in the twentieth century. Political
sovereignty, which was vested only in the monarch during the monarchy,
was transferred to every citizen when democracy was implemented. In
democracy every citizen is eligible to hold any office in the country
if the majority of the people decide. Prior to 1947, when India was a
colony of Britain, the political sovereignty of India, which was the
British Queen, was transferred to every citizen of India when India
gained independence and became a democratic republic. That is what made
a woman named "Draupadi Murmu" eligible to be the President of India.
"Freedom of speech" in democracy, or freedom of the press, was
unthinkable under monarchy. Just as the Communist leadership in India
promoted capitalism for the last three quarters of a century from 1950s
without understanding what Marxism is. Due to ignorance about
democracy, what Comrades say about the "totalitarianism of the
proletariat" which is still only relevant to the old monarchy will only
lead to a loss of people's faith (vote) in democracy. What is
happening in India is that if the Communist Party does not understand
what capitalism is and asks the people to vote for capitalism, it will
not succeed. Unfortunately it is impossible to convince the leadership
of the Communist Party in India. If the Communist leadership in India
is asking for votes for the socialist system accepted by the Indian
Constitution, it will create a considerable movement not only in Indian
politics but also in world politics as well. The events in the Soviet
Union proved that the "totalitarianism of the proletariat" was not a
shortcut to the socialist system. The full cooperation of the people in
democracy is also necessary for the success of socialist commodity
production.
//
Communist
parties must also accept democracy in order to resist and defeat the
transformation of democracy into the domination of money and religion by
bourgeois political parties who do not accept true democracy. The vast
majority of the working people of the society would vote for a
socialist system that would ensure a poverty-free life for a very large
majority of the working population. The proof of that is when the
Indian National Congress under the leadership of Indira Gandhi
nationalized petrol pumps, banks, etc. and incorporated "socialism"
into the Indian Constitution itself, the people supported it by a
four-fifths majority in the Indian Parliament. As the politics of the
Indian National Congress was that of the big bourgeois aristocracy, the
Congress abandoned its socialist positions. But if the Communist
parties of India accept the politics of Socialist India, they can win a
much larger majority in the Indian Parliament than the Indian National
Congress.
//
The
bourgeois will say "democracy" is to fool the people for the power and
money which real democracy does not accept. Marxism gives it the name
"bourgeois democracy". But real democracy; "of the people; by the
people; for the people"; say "people's democracy" is for implementation.
of the exploitative classes that exist for it; dominance of money and
superstitions should be eliminated. Because Marxism gives utmost
importance to the economic system, people's democracy can be implemented
only in a socialist system. That is the basis of "People's Democratic
Republic of China" adopted by Socialist China. The Indian Constitution
which now recognizes Socialism in India is also helpful for it.
